Emily sees a range of NDIS participants, including autistic people of all ages. Many of our conversations are about disability including neurodivergence, mental illness or developmental delay, however often our conversations are about everyday challenges and goals.
This support can be provided in a range of modalities: office, online, telephone, at home, at a local cafe, while walking, during an arts/craft session, at school. Travel rates apply.
NDIS Social work and counselling
A safe and confidential space to explore challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change. No mental health care plan required. Often utilised alongside couples work. Plenty of attentive listening and the option of take-home strategies that are practical and achievable.
This is a safe place to talk about addiction, mental illness, trauma: anything.
individual counselling
Emily can provide guidance and strategies to support parents in navigating family challenges and child behaviours (ages 4 upwards).
As a former family services worker, Emily is a fan of the Circle of Security and Tuning into Kids models. Boundaries, safety and consistency are key - yet fun, creativity and sometimes going with the flow are important tools for the parenting kit. As a parent of three delightfully different teenagers, Emily’s got a few extra tricks up her sleeve.
parenting consultation
Counselling for kids of all ages, for a range of challenges including trauma. Emily creates a safe and supportive environment where children can express themselves and feel understood. Often children present with school related anxiety, or parents may be worried about their child’s behaviours. Parents are welcome to attend the session, especially with young children.
Emily’s background in school counselling for primary and secondary students - plus Emily’s sometimes ridiculous sense of humour - makes for comfortable yet productive support.
